The controller shown at the figure was developed as part of a control system project for a hydroponic installation.
The main goal was to create a reliable device, easy to operate, resistant to hacker attacks with flexible re-purposing and programming capabilities.
For this purpose, a controller from the PIC18 series without a network interface is used, 64 opto-isolated discrete inputs and 64 discrete outputs are made, it is possible to connect up to 3 standard temperature sensors, one sign-synthesizing display.
The Board has a real-time clock/calendar, backup power to maintain the clock for up to 7 days. For connecting additional devices, the Board also has an EIA-485 interface and a USB interface for connecting to a PC.
